The prospective candidate will be degree qualified in either a metallurgical or mechanical engineering background with a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience and possess an understanding of engineering mechanics, fracture mechanics, fatigue and materials behaviour. The candidate will ideally be familiar with fitness for service codes such as BS7910, and specific exposure to girth welded joints is desirable. Knowledge of DNV-OS-F101, API579, R6, BS7608 and DNV-RP-C203 and exposure to FEA is desired but not essential. | ||
Education and Experience: | ||
Technical /Professional Expertise required Offshore and onshore pipeline engineering Fracture mechanics and fatigue assessments of welded joints Mechanical testing of materials Understanding of material behaviour and performance Technical/Professional Expertise desirable but not essential
Finite element analysis Material qualification plan development Possibly working towards CEng status and to have site experience and involved in EPIC projects from installation contractor, operator side would be good. All the usual requirements as you would expect, good communication, IT skills etc. | ||
